Payment Processing Options

At your event you can set up as many computers as you’d like — staffed by your auction staff/volunteers — for conducting check-in, bid recording and checkout. Each computer simply needs access to the Internet. A mix of Macs and PCs is fine. There’s no software to install.

In order for your cashiers to capture credit card information at check-in and run transactions during and following your event, you will need to set up a ReadySetAuction-compatible merchant account to link to your ReadySetAuction account. Card swipers are optional. If a computer is not equipped with a card swiper, then the cashier can key-in the credit card information. If you purchase the ReadySetAuction Select or Complete plan, this same merchant account will allow guests to purchase tickets and sponsorships online and make cash donations online prior to your event, and for winners to self-pay from their own phones/tablets during and following your event.

We partner with two merchant processing companies to provide a fully secure, PCI-DSS compliant, credit card processing solution for you and your bidders. To contact these merchant processing partners, please click the links below. Our partners can also advise you on how to purchase compatible swipers.

The merchant account you set up belongs to your organization. Thus, the money you collect by credit card is deposited by your merchant processor directly to the bank account you designate. In other words, ReadySetAuction is not the middleman for your money.

When you link your organization’s SafeSave Payments merchant account to your ReadySetAuction account, depending on the ReadySetAuction plan you’re using, supporters can buy tickets, sponsorships and tables online and make cash contributions online prior to your event, auction staff can capture credit card information at check-in, bidders can self-pay via credit card, and auction staff can accept credit card payments at checkout from any bidder.

When you link your organization’s PayPal Business account to your ReadySetAuction account, supporters can buy tickets, sponsorships and tables online and make cash contributions online prior to your event, and bidders can self-pay via PayPal or credit card. NOTE: PayPal will not allow your auction staff to capture credit card information at check-in or to accept payments by PayPal or credit card during in-person checkout.

Please Note: PayPal may require a winner to open a PayPal account if the amount he owes exceeds a certain threshold as determined by PayPal. For this reason, if you anticipate any winner will owe more than $2,000, we suggest you look into establishing a merchant account instead of a PayPal account.

You pay for the package only after you’ve sold it.

If the package doesn’t sell, you are under no obligation to purchase it.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Select. From our Winspire Directory, select those Winspire
  2. Reserve. Fill out and submit the reservation form for each package you want to offer. Our partner will contact you to confirm the availability and pricing of your selection(s) and provide you with a Letter of Agreement.
  3. Add. Check your inbox for a confirmation e-mail, where you’ll find copy-and-paste instructions for adding the Winspire package to your ReadySetAuction event site and auction materials.
  4. Auction Off. Order. Purchase. There is no limit to the number of Winspire packages you sell during your auction. In fact, you can sell the same package multiple times if you choose. Collect payment from the winning bidder(s). Then for those packages that you auctioned off successfully, place your order and remit payment. Travel vouchers and certificates along with detailed redemption instructions for the winning bidders will be mailed to you within 21 days.
